About Ian

Ian started at Atlanta National in January 2024, after 5.5 years serving as General Manager at Bear’s Best Atlanta, where he was also previously the Head Golf Professional until 2008. He left Bear’s Best in 2008 to take on the PGA Director of Golf role at River Creek Club in Leesburg, VA. River Creek is one of Invited’s Premier Private Clubs in the D.C. metro area. From River Creek, he returned to his homeland of Scotland to manage six City courses in Edinburgh. This led to a role outside of Golf, running Business Development for the non-profit that ran those courses and all leisure/gym facilities in the City. That in turn led to a role in Business Development and Marketing for a non-profit that supported the homeless in Edinburgh. Before beginning his golf career in 2002, he worked in the software industry with Director of Sales and VP Sales positions for companies selling Mobile Billing software and Directory Assistance Software –traveling extensively across the Americas in these roles. His overall background is a mix of Sales, Business Development and Marketing roles outside of golf, along with around sixteen years of experience managing golf and business operations at Private and Public Golf Clubs.
